Ryan Young, Textile Exchange’s late COO, is the inspiration behind Textile Exchange’s Climate+ vision, which is our goal of guiding the industry towards a 45% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from fiber and raw material production by 2030. But it doesn’t stop there. Climate+ is unique in that it looks at sustainability holistically – accounting for the impacts of fiber and material production on soil health, water, biodiversity, and livelihoods too.

In honor of Ryan and his vision, we will again be awarding Ryan Young Climate+ Awards to outstanding people who show a strong leadership and commitment to the Climate+ vision, as well as at least one of the three key areas of action to reaching this goal: material substitution, closing the innovation gap, and slowing growth.
